The Patrick Residence

The Patrick Residence is a 3 bedroom home with an enclosed 2 car garage, within an overall footprint of 3,800 square feet. The central area of the shell is the great room, enclosing a large living, dining and kitchen space. The wings or ends of the shell accommodate the garage on one end and the master bedroom on the opposite end. The Patrick residence is an adaptation of a design called the Pheasant. The Pheasant, in keeping with my Avian theme, representing the concept soaring in both design and a philosophical approach to design, was derived from a plan done for Frank and Kathy Astourian. The Astourian design is shown in the website section of wire models. The wire model enables one to see how the use of earth berming lets us integrate the building into the landscape and yet allow the building to emerge from the land to transcend earthy boundaries.
